Weekly Update 03/12/09

The new website is going good and its beginning to get some traction. After only running for about two weeks I’m already up to close to 40 RSS/E-mail subscribers and about 100 hits per day.

If you haven’t checked it out yet give it a visit at pswjobs.com . Don’t forget to join the RSS and/or E-mail list for updates. I usually update the site with a couple of job opportunities once a day during the week.

As for my job its currently going well. No real changes as of yet, although there is a rumor going around that we may have a few more in-house job postings in the coming weeks.

That’s about all for now. See you next week!

My Attempt at a website: PSW Jobs

Hi all. I’ve tried my hand at creating a personal support worker related website after purchasing a new Mac (lovin’ it by the way)

Using a program named Rapid Weaver I’ve created a pretty simple site named PSW Jobs Dot Com . As the name states the website features listings for PSW Jobs. Currently I don’t have too many postings, basically a few listings I can find from around the net. I’ve e-mailed a number of employers and I’m waiting to hear back from the majority of them. I didn’t know this before I created the site but places like monster.ca charge something like $300 for one online job posting.

In the future I hope to improve my website creation skills and have the site become more fluid and up to date. As for now it still has some decent information and jobs for Ottawa, Toronto, etc.

I’ll be back with more info on the site and how I resolved a slight management/employment program at work early next week.

Have a good weekend.

I made up my mind… for the time being at least

Re: PSW Night Job

I think I’ve made up my mind. Awake shifts are for me. I can get my studying done (check out my massage therapy canada blog), watch a little TV and have some of that precious alone time that one can only get at 3:46 am. Not too mention that I couldn’t imagine going down to about $8 an hour for a sleep shift.

Tonight I’m planning on doing some homework and then surfing the web for some ideas about this site. I can’t seem to find too much about personal support workers on the web. Mostly ads. I even found a site that’s charging a subscription fee to be a part of their “private forums”. No thanks. If you know a site or two that I should check out please leave the web site address’ in the comments section.

Have a great weekend!
